The 5th Poultry Science Conference (PCS) will be organised by the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore (UVAS) in partnership with the Pakistan Poultry Association.

The 5th Poultry Science Conference (PCS), which will take place from September 21–23, 2023, under the sponsorship of IPEX 2023, will be organised by the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore (UVAS) in partnership with the Pakistan Poultry Association (PPA).

At a meeting in this regard held on Monday at UVAS, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nasim Ahamd and IPEX Chief Organiser Abdul Haye Mehta discussed preparations for the conference. Among those present at the event were Dr. Hanif Nazir Ch., Dr. Abdul Karim, Prof. Dr. Aftab Anjum, Prof. Dr. Saima, and Prof. Dr. Yasin Tipu.

Speaking at the event, the vice chancellor noted that the poultry industry is one of the most dynamic and significant industries in the nation, providing livelihood and employment opportunities for millions of people.

He claimed that the conference on poultry science would give the scientific and professional communities a useful forum for discussion of pressing issues and recommendations for the future.

It was noted during the meeting that eminent institutions and organisations from abroad will send keynote speakers to the conference who will speak on hot-button topics like GMO, AMR, digital transformation, alternative feed sources, and broilers’ flavour characteristics.

Maximum participation from individuals from public and private institutions as well as research organisations is anticipated at the conference, keeping in mind the hot topics that will be discussed.

Lahore Veterinary College, now known as the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, is a public university in the Pakistani province of Punjab. Pattoki and Jhang, two more teaching campuses, are located in rural parts of the Punjab.

It was one of the first institutions established by Great Britain in the Indian subcontinent and one of the oldest institutions of veterinary sciences and microbiology in Asia when it was founded in 1882.

It has maintained its position as a well-known institution for veterinary and animal sciences since its founding and carries out a wide range of microbiology research and human resource development.
