An innovative electronic health record (EHR) platform developed by Pakistan’s PatientFirst.AI, a ground-breaking healthcare startup, has won a $75,000 prize in a prestigious competition sponsored by Harvard University.

The vision of PatientFirst.AI to transform the healthcare ecosystem for developing countries was acknowledged by the Harvard President’s Innovation Challenge, which seeks to identify and support cutting-edge startups with the potential for global impact.

The contest seeks to honour startups that have novel solutions to urgent issues and the potential to have a significant global impact.

As it addresses the urgent need for better healthcare record management in developing countries where access to adequate healthcare services remains a crucial issue, PatientFirst.AI’s lightweight user-friendly electronic health record platform caught the judges’ attention.

PatientFirst.AI co-founder Fiza Shaukat commented on the victory, saying, “We are incredibly honoured to receive this recognition from Harvard University. It confirms our conviction that our platform has the potential to increase access to healthcare for millions of people in developing countries. To further develop and improve our solution, she said, “this prize will enable us to move closer to our goal of revolutionising global healthcare.”

When Fiza, a former management consultant at Accenture, lost a relative as a result of lost medical records and postponed treatment, PatientFirst.AI’s journey began. Engineers themselves, Fiza and her brother started working on PatientFirst.AI in an effort to solve this issue. When they won Boston University’s new venture competition, they were rewarded for their tenacity and entrepreneurial spirit with incubation support to create their prototype.

The platform of the startup is made to be easily implemented in nations with weak infrastructure and resources. PatientFirst.AI is positioned to have a significant impact on global healthcare with a potential market of over a billion people and an estimated $80 billion in revenue.

Due to PatientFirst.AI’s subscription-based business model, healthcare providers can easily access and use the platform.

This model aims to lower entry barriers and encourage broad EHR system adoption. Fiza emphasised the value of having a strong support system, citing the invaluable advice they have received from advisors at the Harvard Innovation Lab and professors at MIT.

As PatientFirst.AI expands, the startup is also thinking about creating a board to help direct its long-term goals and strategic choices.

PatientFirst.AI intends to grow its operations, improve its platform, and get ready for a wider roll-out across numerous developing countries with the prize money and growing support. In order to raise their next round of funding, the startup is actively looking to connect with investors with an interest in the healthcare sector.
