Mosti To Allocate Land For Automotive High Technology Valley In Perak

A plot of land in Tanjung Malim, Perak, will be given over by the Science, Technology, and Innovation Ministry (Mosti) to be used for the Automotive High Technology Valley (AHTV), though no date has been set for its eventual commercialization.

The Automotive High Technology Valley, which will take up a space of roughly 404.68 ha, is still being developed by Mosti, according to Minister Chang Lih Kang, despite the lack of a timetable. In a press conference held today in Mosti, he stated, “No, we do not have the timeline yet, but we are developing it because it needs 404.68ha of land owned by DRB-Hicom Bhd.

Regarding the National Energy Policy 2022–2040, which calls for 38% of vehicles to be electric, Chang stated that Malaysia could achieve this goal before 2024. We will be able to put the desired number of electric vehicles on the road by 2040, he predicted.

In order to explore investment opportunities in the nation, Mosti will host two Chinese EV companies on April 8: China Harmony Auto Holding Ltd. and GAC Aion New Energy Automobile Co. Ltd.

Over 36 massive corporations, including Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, one of the top 500 companies in the world, met with the Malaysian delegation during its visit to China under the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

“In addition to electric vehicles and data centres, we also talked about space technology and hydrogen, but as of right now, no specific companies are expressing interest in hydrogen. “

President Xi Jinping and Anwar both expressed a desire to collaborate in the fields of science, technology, the digital economy, and precision farming, as well as exploring opportunities for collaboration with China on human vaccines, the official said.

Chang continued by stating that Mosti-related investments totaling about RM170 billion have been made in Malaysia. The joint venture between Tus-Holdings Co. Ltd. and Brunsfield International Group, which is a part of the Republic of China’s largest technology incubator work, and TusStar Malaysia recently signed a memorandum of understanding, he added.

Mranti, an agency under Mosti, is the Malaysian Research Accelerator for Technology and Innovation (Mranti). Chang also thought that the trip to China had strengthened ties between the two nations, which are moving in similar directions in the fields of science and technology.
