PEC Officially Opens Smart Classroom At UET

The Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU) in Xi’an, China, and the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) in Mardan have partnered to support Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s (KPK) youth.

A press release from both universities stated that they would soon sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), recognising the value of doing so because youth are the future of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK). In this regard, a ceremony was held at UET Mardan.

The ceremony was attended by a number of dignitaries, including the Director of P&D, Engr. Sajjad Ali; the Registrar, Dr. Muhammad Alam; the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Computing, Prof. Dr. Imran Khan; as well as faculty and students.

During a ceremony, the vice chancellor of UET Mardan welcomed guests and emphasised the significance of the event. He mentioned UET Mardan, the second public engineering university in the province, which is situated in Mardan, a city that is conveniently situated along the CPEC route and close to the Rashakai industrial zone.

Both nations will gain from cooperation between NPU and UET Mardan as a result of the programmes for faculty and student exchange, scholarships, and joint research that will be made possible.

The establishment of cooperative research labs and centres of excellence was discussed by NPU and UET Mardan. An overview of NPU’s faculty’s knowledge and commitment was given, and a video showcasing NPU activities was shown.

Students from the NPU and UET Mardan participated in a Q&A session. The chief guest and guest of honour received cultural mementos, and a tree was planted at the university to honour the friendship between Pakistan and China.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government established the University of Engineering & Technology Mardan (UET Mardan) on March 7, 2018, in accordance with the KP Universities Act.

The university campus, which spans 172 Kanals, is located on the main Charsada Road in Mardan. Previously, the Campus had been running as one of UET Peshawar’s satellite campuses since 2002.
