Haleon Pakistan Limited and Smile Train’s collaboration will enable children with cleft lips and palates to live full and productive lives, maximising their own potential and giving back to their communities.

By raising money through its top Oral Care brands, Sensodyne and Parodontax, Haleon Pakistan Limited (formerly GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare Pakistan Limited) has announced a partnership with Smile Train, the leading global charity for people with cleft palates.

In Pakistan, one out of every 600 newborn children born with cleft lips and palates. These kids typically have trouble breathing, eating, and speaking, and they also experience social stigma.

The Smile Train supports 100% free cleft surgery and comprehensive cleft care for children worldwide, including orthodontics, speech therapy, and psychosocial support. It also offers training and education to local medical professionals.

At a press conference in Karachi, the alliance between Haleon Pakistan and the Smile Train was declared. At the panel discussion, speakers included Professor Dr. Mirza Shehab Afzal Beg, MBBS, FRCS (Ire), FRCS Plastic Surgery UK and Ire, Ms. Amina Mujib Khan, Integrative Nutrition Health Coach and Weight loss Consultant, and Ms. Hima Raza, a makeup artist whose child was born with a cleft lip.

The partnership will help identify and support qualified patients and is powered by the Oral Care brands Sensodyne and Parodontax. On behalf of Haleon Pakistan, a portion of the sales proceeds from each package of Sensodyne and Parodontax sold in specific retail locations from March 15 to May 5, 2023, will be donated to the Smile Train Foundation.
