Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) held its 10th Open House. University Institute of Information Technology (UIIT) organized the event that has provided a platform to the students to showcase their projects and strengthen the linkage between industry and academia besides enable the students to realize market trends.

Prof Dr. Rai Niaz Ahmad, Vice Chancellor PMAS-AAUR graced the event as chief guest. Deans, directors, faculty members and representatives from industry were also the part of the Open House. In an Open House, 50 plus projects were displayed whereas students presented the software solution for industries real problem, for instance, agri, mechanical, electrical, chemicals, hardware, teachers community problems, etc.

Students in their projects did a proper analysis for designing and implementing tools & technologies of time with modern programming approaches keeping in view the needs of client.

Prof Dr. Rai Niaz Ahmad praised the projects presented by young students while addressing the participants and said that PMAS-AAUR administration is dedicated to stimulating and supportive environment for students to maximize their potential in their chosen field especially in computer science and agricultural collaboration with confidence.

Vic Chancellor said that Pakistan as an agricultural country requires IT fusion to aid agriculture using intelligent and customized applications. Despite several efforts still a big vacuum to fill with an intelligent application that can improve our agricultural economy, he added. He accentuated on strengthening the relationship between industry and academia to enhance growth of information technology in Pakistan. He strained that the students must work hard for knowledge and also guaranteed every possible support from PMAS-AAUR in completing creative and unique projects.

Director UIIT, Dr. Mubashir Riaz Khan, in his welcome note has briefed the participants about the aims and objectives of organizing this event.  He informed the meeting that this open house is a beheading road for our education system that requires to fill the gaps between theory and the practice, address the societal demands and retrieve its identifiable space in academia. He appreciated all participants from academia, industry, faculty members for supervising and making this event successful.
