NSU and PSEB Affirms to Work Jointly in Digital Technologies

Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) Managing Director Osman Nasir and his team met with the Vice-Chancellor of the National Skills University Islamabad. Upon his arrival at the university, he was briefed about various programs the university has recently launched in several Digital technologies, including civil, electrical, mechanical, medical, information technologies, and mathematics.

According to him, the university aspires to be the home of skills education across the country. Moreover, the university efforts align with the true essence of the Prime Minister’s Hunarmand Pakistan Program. A batch of 86 students has already graduated under this program, and above 150 students are learning skills in automotive engineering technology, cybersecurity, documentary and filmmaking, industrial automation, and mobile manufacturing.

The Vice-Chancellor appreciated the PSEB strategy of providing opportunities for students to work on projects and problems highly relevant to the industry. Moreover, both teams unanimously agreed to implement continued professional training of the trainers due to rapid changes in the IT landscape, particularly with the arrival of blockchain and cloud computing technologies.

This will create a great nexus among consumers, academia, and industry and assist in solving major challenges industries will face in a highly competitive world. The NSU team will appreciate the potential collaboration with the PSEB and the overall participation in transforming Pakistan into the hub of digital technologies.

Several others participating in this meeting were Mr. Shaukat Ali, Director Technical PSEB, Mr. Osaid Arshad from Ministry of IT, Prof. Dr. Afaq Hussain, Dr. Shahid Anwar, Ms. Huma Israr, and Registrar of the National Skills University Islamabad were also present in this meeting.
