According to the Ministry of Transport report, China’s container throughput at ports reached 260 million twenty-foot equivalent units in last year, an annual rise of 1.2 percent. The report also added that Cargo throughput at ports increased 4.3 percent yearly to reach 14.55 billion tons in last year.
In addition, the size of China’s maritime fleet continues to develop. By the end of last year, it reached a size of 310 million deadweight tons to be positioned as second worldwide.
