Recent reports claim that Qualcomm will be launching its advanced version of their flagship chip Snapdragon 888 knows as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+. The ARM based chipset was found on the Geekbench listing which is a sign of the next generation processor.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 was announced on December 2, 2020. It will be completing its 6 months in July 2021 and according to Qualcomm’s track record, we can expect the release of Snapdragon 888+ by that time too.
As per this posting, the greatest change between the Snapdragon 888 and 888+ is the clock speed as we have seen in the earlier models too. The Cortex X1 core on the SD888+ runs at 3.0GHz contrasted with 2.84GHz on the old model. The remainder of the setup will be equivalent to prior to including four low-power Cortex A55 cores at 1.8GHz and three extra Cortex-A78 clusters running at 2.4Ghz.
Because of the greater clock speed, the lead chipset had the option to score 1,171 in single-core tests and 3,704 points on the multi-core test. The score gap between these chips is not really new to the customers. It was noticed almost same between Snapdragon 865 and 865+ which was release a year ago.
The upcoming chipset will be going against MediaTek Dimensity 1200. It is also expected to give a tough time to the Apple Bionic 14 but that is where the company need to improve their GPU. We likewise saw a slight lift in GPU clock speed and an improved FastConnect 6900 chip on the SD865+, so we can anticipate something very similar from the SD888+.
There is not much else thought about the Snapdragon 888+, yet we can hope to hear more throughout the forthcoming weeks. As referenced before, the company will officially be launching this upgraded flagship chipset in July this year.
