Ethiopia tech startup Y-Tech (Youth Technology) has launched the Ethio Locate Application offering digital solutions for both local and international businesses since its launch.

Ethio Locate is a travel guide application helping users locate information and places in Ethiopia through a free simplified process. This platform helps businesses and organizations across Ethiopia build digital profiles that simplify advertising their products and services online.

Ethio Locate is built on the Ethio Locate web platform and can also be downloaded on the Android PlayStore.

Through the platform, users can locate guest houses, museums, parks, hotels, restaurants, guest houses, and parks spread across the country.

Founder and CEO of Ethio Locate Yishak Amdeselassie confirmed working on the platform for a short time while gathering information from potential users and customers. On the platform, event organizers can “announce, schedule and locate their events”  while making bookings through the Ethio Locate Events service.

Features offered on Ethio Locate’s are: a digital profile, nearby places, ratings and reviews, favorite places search, and multiple language support.

The team at Ethio Locate began working on the platform on account of the personal struggles they faced. Tourists coming from other parts of the globe have also faced similar challenges. The platform offers customers an “organized and filtered digital data” in a single place.

Ethio Locate drew their inspiration from their personal struggles. The idea was to find information and locations when traveling across different Ethiopian cities. Tourism arrivals from different parts of the world faced similar challenges. This made it hard to receive updated information on the right accommodation and service providers coming as tourists travel the country.
