Samsung has been working with AMD on the new Exynos chipset for two years, which will include an integrated AMD Radeon graphics chip. The launch is slowly approaching and is scheduled for the second half of this year.

The new Exynos will be manufactured like this using 5nm technology. AMD’s graphics chip will already be built on RDNA2 architecture, similar to the Radeon RX 6000 graphics cards or chips in the latest PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S game consoles.

As a result, the chip is expected to provide high graphics performance while supporting modern technologies, including ray tracing, for example. The new Exynos is supposed to be scalable, so we will meet it not only on phones or tablets but also on laptops, so Samsung will compete with the Apple M1 and the future M2, which is expected at the end of the year.

We will see what the chip will look like with the ratio of consumption and energy, which is one of the most important features of mobile devices. Apple has a major headway so far, and the new generation M2 chip will likely be produced through an improved 5nm + process at TSMC.

Samsung is also facing a more difficult situation as it has to rely on compatibility and optimization of Windows 10 operating systems for Arm or ChromeOS. However, in the case of tablets, it will definitely provide an interesting connection with the Android system.
