Amid the rising number of Covid-19 cases in Pakistan, a report distributed Bloomberg has said that Islamabad will take around 10 years to immunize 75% of its population as compared to other developed nations that require much shorter time for the distribution of the vaccine. India still considered a developing country is expected to vaccinate its 75% population in a period of 3 years being worlds second most populated country.
“Increased restrictions, broader lockdowns and stronger sops (Standard operating procedure) enforcement are starting to have effect. Initial signs of positivity slowing. However, due to momentum of last 2 weeks patients on critical care and mortality will stay at high levels for some time. Please follow sops and be safe,” Asad Umar, chairman of the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) tweeted.
The rising number of cases in Pakistan has resulted in expanded limitations, more extensive lockdowns, and stronger standard operating procedures. Developed countries like Germany and France are still under restrictions. The Bloomberg report claims that these countries will further need about a year to vaccinate their maximum population.
Taking Pakistan’s present circumstance in account, the report likewise raised worry over the issue because of the “general indifference to medical problems once they stop bothering rich countries.” Most recently 3953 cases were reported in Pakistan. The all-out number of COVID-19 cases in the nation has arrived at 696,184.
