STAFF REPORT KHI: An important lecture titled as How Pakistan can promote scientific research for human development was held in University of Karachi (UoK) by Department of Social Sciences, UoK. The lecture was part of series planned by the department for the sake of uplifting of social sector through scientific research.
Director, International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS) UoK, Prof Dr M Iqbal Chaudhary was present on the occasion. He stressed on the need of advanced technologies promotion for the sake of social development. He said, “Pakistan despite having immense potential in every field is lagging behind due to inadequate use of technology, we are just consumers of innovative technologies and not a developer. The focus is required on developing innovative technologies in order to find cheaper solutions to our problems instead of importing the solution at hefty costs”.
UoK Faculty Of Social Sciences Dean Prof Dr Moonis Ahmar in finishing up comments scrutinized that Pakistan is rich in mineral assets yet a genuine and conferred initiative is required which ought to roll out progressive improvements in the training segment and pragmatic endeavors to elevate science and innovation to accomplish the objective of turning into a noteworthy local financial influence.
