The Pet Center of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore arranged 3-days National Workshop on Small Animal Radiography & Abdominal Sonography at UVAS Veterinary Academy.

UVAS National Workshop Small Animal Rediography End + Seminar Clean Green : Vice-Chancellor Prof DrNasim Ahmadchaired the concluding session of the workshop and presented shields among the resource persons, sponsors, organizers and distributed certificates among participants while Dr Shehla Gul Bukhari, Dr Zia ullah Mughal and a number of participants from different institutions from all over the country were present.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof DrNasim Ahmad said that such workshops are necessary for imparting practical knowledge with pet-practitioners/students to enhance their competencies in theirs professional work.

He stressed organizer to sought suggestion/feedback from professionals so that in future such hands on training& workshop make more productive for the capacity building of professionals.

During three day workshop experts delivered their lectures on the topic of B-mode ultrasound physics, review on normal abdominal anatomy, normal abdominal sonography and landmark, common sonographic disease diagnosis and canine/feline reproductive sonography etc.

In which hands on sonographic practice and contrast radiography of the GIT & general abdominal ultrsono graphy session were also conducted.

The aim of the hands on training was to enable the participants to correctly interpret radiography as well as successfully scan the various abdominal organs of the pets in general.

UVAS holds seminar on Clean and Green Pakistan

The Society for Conservation of Environment and Nature (SCEN), Department of Environmental Sciences of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore in collaboration with Forestry Department Punjab arranged a seminar on ‘Clean and Green Pakistan’ with the theme of “Plant a tree, plant a hope for future” at City Campus.

In which various activities including plantation drive, a seminar and inter-university poster competition featured to highlight the importance of plantation and clean environment.

Vice-Chancellor Prof DrNasim Ahmad chaired prize distribution ceremony of the seminar and distributed shields among the winner of poster competition. Later Prof DrNasim Ahmad planted a sapling in the lawn of Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition.

Principal Student Affair Prof Dr Kamran Asharf, Senior Tutor Dr Ali RazaAwan, DrFarihaArooj and few faculty members and official from Forestry Department were present on the occasion.

Inseminar, Assistant Director Forestry Department Majid Shamrez delivered a lecture to highlight the issues of country like pollution, smog and importance of forest& plantation and Chief Executive Officer of A&M also talk about the safe drinking water and benefit of drinking RO treated water while a large number of students and faculty member were attended.
