STAFF REPORT LHR: The Science Council of Japan (SCJ) has organized a two-day meeting of Asian Young Scientists at SCJ in Tokyo in which 22 young scientists are participating from 11 different Asian countries.


Aftab Ahmad, President NAYS, represented Pakistan at the meeting.


The basic objective of the meeting was to strengthen the networking among the scientists in Asian region and to promote science and technology in the region.


During the meeting, Aftab gave a presentation on “Research in Asia: Strength and weaknesses” in which he presented research and research output of few representative Asian countries.


He there is much improvement in research in South Korea, China, Iran and India recently.
