School Re-opening Decision Amid Lockdown to be Taken on 2nd July : The Government will decide on whether to re-open schools in Pakistan following the outbreak of the coronavirus. The decision will be made on 2 July 2020 because of the immense pressure by private schools in this regard according to the Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood.

The decision regarding re-opening of government schools and other educational institutions in Pakistan will be taken on 2 July 2020 at the inter-provincial conference of education minister.

There have been many reports circulating the internet that the Government is planning on opening schools by 15 July but those are all fake news since currently no decision has been taken on the matter.

Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood even responded to a Tweet by Pakistani singer and actor Ali Zafar on the matter clarifying that no decision had been taken yet.

Schools were closed on 7 March to prevent the spread of the coronavirus among children. However, private schools across Pakistan are now demanding that schols be re-opened and pressurizing the government on the matter. However, Mahmood said that the health of our children was the top priority.

The Education Minister further spoke about the issues being faced by students regarding online classes across Pakistan saying that the Prime Minister will announce a plan regarding the availability of network and connectivity.
