LG Nova, the North American Innovation Center of LG Electronics, is set to unveil a glimpse of the future’s leading technologies at the upcoming CES 2024 in Las Vegas, scheduled for January. Under the theme “Building a brighter tomorrow together,” LG’s US entity will open its showroom at Eureka Park, featuring innovative technology ideas from 10 partnering startups in four key fields: digital health, clean tech, future tech, and smart life.

Rhee Sok-woo, Senior Vice President of Innovation and Head of LG Nova, expressed excitement about showcasing LG Nova’s leadership in the global startup ecosystem at CES 2024. The event will serve as a platform to share the company’s visions for the future of various industries.

The 10 startup companies featured in the showroom have been selected through LG’s idea contest, “Mission for the Future.” These startups are collaborating with LG to translate their innovative ideas into tangible businesses. Among the participating companies are XR Health, a virtual clinic, and DeepBrain AI, specializing in artificial intelligence video generation.

LG Nova has been actively exploring future business opportunities since 2021, hosting an annual contest to identify global startups with innovative ideas and sponsoring their project development. In addition, the company recently launched the Nova Prime Fund, a venture capital fund exceeding $100 million, in partnership with Clearbrook, a global investment advisory and asset management firm. The fund is dedicated to nurturing companies focused on advancing innovations for a better future.

While LG Nova takes center stage at CES, LG Uplus, a leading mobile carrier affiliated with LG Group, is also gearing up for the event. The company plans to send a team of top executives and employees specializing in artificial intelligence (AI) and mobility sectors to explore next-generation technologies.

Led by Chief Technology Officer Lee Sang-yup, the team overseeing AI and data product businesses will participate in keynote sessions and tour showrooms during the four-day event. LG Uplus is strategically focusing on strengthening customer service with generative AI chatbots as part of its commitment to leveraging next-generation technologies. The company also aims to bolster its freight brokerage platforms and electric vehicle charging businesses.

In the competitive landscape of telecommunications firms, LG Uplus CEO Hwang Hyeon-sik emphasized the company’s dedication to rolling out new products that utilize next-generation technologies. With a focus on enhancing customer service through AI chatbots, advancing freight brokerage platforms, and contributing to the electric vehicle charging ecosystem, LG Uplus is positioning itself as a key player in the evolving landscape of technology and connectivity.

As CES 2024 approaches, LG Nova and LG Uplus are poised to make significant contributions to the discourse on future technologies and innovations, further solidifying LG’s position as a frontrunner in the global tech industry. The collaborative efforts with startups and the strategic investments in venture capital underscore LG’s commitment to shaping a brighter and more technologically advanced tomorrow.
