WHO Releases Crucial Regulatory Guidelines For AI In Healthcare

Digital gastrointestinal health company, Vivante Health, has secured a national distribution contract with health insurer UnitedHealthcare (UHC), marking a significant milestone for digestive health solutions.

Vivante’s cutting-edge platform, GIThrive, offers personalized care plans, symptom tracking, access to educational resources, and self-guided behavioral health modules. The platform also features a coordinated team of healthcare providers, including coaches, dietitians, and physicians.

Based in Illinois, Vivante Health’s GIThrive platform will be accessible to UHC customers, including self-funded employers. This collaboration marks a breakthrough, as it introduces the first digestive health offering on the UHC Hub. The Hub serves as a network of vendors, aiding organizations in the selection, management, and procurement of healthcare benefits.

In the United States, an estimated 60 to 70 million individuals suffer from digestive diseases, as reported by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases.

This achievement comes shortly after Vivante Health concluded a successful $31 million Series B funding round in September, following a noteworthy $16 million raised in a Series A funding round the previous year. The company has also received substantial investments in previous years, securing $5.8 million in Series A1 investment in 2020, and $6 million in 2018.

In 2022, Vivante Health was added to the Solera Health digital health platform. Solera Health operates a marketplace for benefits and chronic disease management programs. Additionally, Oshi Health, a fellow digital gastrointestinal health company, also joined Solera’s marketplace.

The virtual gastrointestinal health sector boasts other notable players, including Berlin-based Cara Care, which offers an app focused on addressing gastrointestinal issues. Meanwhile, London-based Bold Health, a digital therapeutics company specializing in gastrointestinal conditions, also makes strides in the field.

This partnership between Vivante Health and UnitedHealthcare marks a significant advancement in the realm of digestive health solutions, promising improved care and support for individuals grappling with gastrointestinal ailments. As the digital health landscape continues to evolve, innovative platforms like GIThrive are poised to revolutionize the way healthcare is delivered and managed.
