Sungrow Showcases Renewable Energy Solutions At IGEM Malaysia

Sungrow, the global leader in inverter and energy storage systems, unveiled its latest state-of-the-art renewable energy solutions at IGEM Malaysia 2023.

With offerings ranging from inverters and energy storage systems to electric vehicle chargers and digital energy management platforms, Sungrow aims to bolster Malaysia’s transition towards a more sustainable and responsible society. The event garnered significant attention, drawing esteemed visitors including Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, the Minister of Natural Resources, Environment, and Climate Change.

Malaysia stands at a crucial juncture in its energy transition journey, and Sungrow’s cutting-edge products and technologies are poised to play a pivotal role in this transformation. With utility-scale power plants holding a staggering 210 GW of potential in the Malaysian photovoltaic market, Sungrow presented a suite of solutions designed to meet this burgeoning demand.

Among the showcased solutions in IGEM Malaysia 2023 is the powerful 350kW string inverter SG350HX, the groundbreaking “1+X” modular inverter, and the liquid-cooled energy storage system, the PowerTitan 2.0. The “1+X” modular inverter is a revolutionary product, combining the strengths of both central and string inverters.

With the ability to reach a capacity of 8.8 MW by combining eight units, it provides a minimum capacity of 1.1 MW per unit. The PowerTitan 2.0, making its Southeast Asian debut, integrates Sungrow’s cutting-edge technologies, offering a high battery cell capacity of 314Ah, robust grid support technology, and systematic liquid-cooled temperature control.

As Malaysia’s manufacturing industry experiences rapid growth, coupled with the support of initiatives like the Net Energy Metering Scheme, local businesses are increasingly turning to photovoltaics to reduce electricity costs. Sungrow’s comprehensive range of renewable energy solutions for the C&I sector includes the SG125CX-P2 inverter, the PowerStack ESS, the SP600S power optimizer, the AC22E-01 EV charger, and the iSolarCloud digital O&M platform.

Specifically tailored to meet Southeast Asia’s policy requirements, the SP600S stands out for its dual functionality of “optimization” and “shutdown,” garnering acclaim from Thai enterprises.

With the Malaysian government strongly advocating for photovoltaic installations on household roofs, Sungrow introduces the SH10RS and SG20RT-P2 hybrid single-phase inverters. These products offer customers a choice based on roof size and come equipped with advanced safety features. Additionally, Sungrow inverters boast enhanced compatibility with bi-facial modules, leading to higher yields for homeowners and plant owners.

Kevin Guo, Head of Sungrow Malaysia, affirmed Sungrow‘s commitment to being Malaysia’s steadfast partner in the pursuit of its energy transition goals.

He stated, “With the ambitious target to achieve 70% RE installed capacity in the power mix by 2050, primarily driven by solar PV installation, Malaysia is facing challenges. We have commissioned several solar projects in Malaysia… Our innovative technologies can provide Malaysia with efficient, safe, durable, and stylish products, helping Malaysia achieve its net-zero goal as soon as possible.”
