The London Business School (LBS) MENA Startup Competition 2023 has revealed its top 10 finalists after an extensive three-month selection process.

These innovative seed-stage startups, spanning various sectors, with a notable focus on sustainability, will compete in the Grand Final scheduled for October 10th at the AstroLabs Campus in Dubai.

The selected startups represent a diverse range of industries across the MENA region. Noteworthy participants include AHAD, a UAE-based cybersecurity company, and Organic Waste Management Solutions, a Saudi Arabian food waste management company, among others.

The LBS MENA Startup Competition, now in its second year, serves as a pivotal platform for fostering innovation in the MENA region. Supported by the Institute of Entrepreneurship and Private Capital (IEPC) at LBS, the competition aims to connect aspiring entrepreneurs with venture capitalists and investors, providing them with opportunities for growth, financial backing, market expansion, and media exposure.

The competition enjoys extensive support from strategic partners deeply integrated into the startup ecosystem within the region.

This includes organizations like AstroLabs, Innobayt, AWS Activate, and Floward, who are offering sponsorship packages and awards. Additionally, participants will benefit from immersive workshops provided by entities like Spark! Studios, ADG Legal, Bambucorn, and Khwarizmi Ventures.

The competition emphasizes improving the day-to-day experiences of engineers and entrepreneurs. By saving time and costs and enhancing end-user interactions, the event aims to empower visionary entrepreneurs throughout the MENA region.

The finalists were selected by a distinguished panel of 12 judges with extensive expertise in the startup and innovation landscape. The panel included leaders from various sectors, ensuring a comprehensive evaluation process.

The LBS MENA Startup Competition 2023 builds on the success of its inaugural edition and aims to catalyze the startup landscape in the MENA region. With a focus on bridging the gap between founders and investors, the competition strives to create a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem.
