HEC Advises Varsities To Enact Revised Teacher Education Roadmap

The Ministry of Education declared that Bulgaria is the leading nation in the region for the use of Google platform for educational technology after a meeting on Wednesday between Prof. Galin Tsokov, Minister of Education and Science, and William Florence, Head of Google Workspace for Education in Central and Eastern Europe.

The analysis by the technology company is based on a number of variables, such as the quantity of certified instructors and trainers, the use of tools like Google Classroom, etc.

During the meeting, it was revealed that Bulgaria also leads the world in terms of the percentage of teachers who possess certificates from the technology company proving their digital literacy.

According to data, more than 200 thousand users and about 500 schools in Bulgaria actively make use of the company’s cloud platform.

The meeting’s attendees made comments about how active use of technology encourages innovation in teaching strategies.

Other significant discussions points included the rise of AI, the planning of a joint event to showcase digital solutions in education, and strategies for expanding their application in Bulgaria.

The government’s dedication to the digital transformation of education is one reason why Google technology is used in education in Bulgaria.

In order to give all students and teachers in Bulgaria access to digital devices and learning resources, the government introduced the national initiative “Digital Bulgaria 2020” in 2018.

The government has funded the purchase of Google Chromebooks and other devices for schools as part of this programme, and it has also put in place a number of training programmes for teachers on how to use Google technology in the classroom.

Students and teachers in Bulgaria have benefited in a variety of ways from the use of Google technology in the classroom. When using Google tools, students claim to be more engaged in their studies and more likely to work collaboratively with their peers. Google tools, according to teachers, have made it simpler for them to run their classrooms and deliver differentiated instruction.
