National Industrial Hemp and Medicinal Cannabis Policy still awaiting for approval
In order to create and market medical cannabis products in Malaysia, Bod Science (BOD) and Antah Group have signed a letter of intent.

The two businesses want to introduce and certify medical marijuana in Malaysian healthcare through clinical trials.

In order to sell and distribute Bod’s product after the trials are finished, Antah will be the only one.

Anxiety disorders and major depressive disorder are among the conditions that the companies hope to target for medical cannabis therapy.

There haven’t yet been any clinical trials or chances to look into how cannabis affects the health care system in Malaysia.

One of Malaysia’s largest investment holding companies, Antah, has a variety of interests in industries like healthcare, energy production, and real estate development.

In accordance with specific formal agreements to be followed, the agreement lays out the framework for the company’s plan to collaborate.

Bod is required, among other things, to provide the medical cannabis to be used in the planned clinical trial. After the trial is finished, Bod will provide the medication to Antah for commercial distribution with the costs to be covered at a predetermined rate.

Additionally, Antah will hold exclusive rights to the sale and distribution of Bod’s products as well as other medical cannabis-related goods in Malaysia.

According to Bod CEO Jo Patterson, the partnership gives Bod a valuable opportunity to lead research into the use of medicinal cannabis in Malaysia’s healthcare sector alongside one of the largest businesses in the nation.

Medical cannabis refers to the use of cannabis or its chemical components for therapeutic purposes. Cannabis contains various compounds, including cannabinoids, such as THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) and CBD (cannabidiol), which have shown potential medical benefits. Medical cannabis is used to alleviate symptoms and manage certain medical conditions.

The active components in cannabis can interact with the body’s endocannabinoid system, which plays a role in regulating various physiological processes such as pain sensation, mood, appetite, and immune response.

It can be administered in various forms, including oral preparations, inhalation, topical applications, and more recently, as pharmaceutical-grade products.
