Huawei’s Tech Arena competitions, supported by its labs and universities, are designed to give students around the world the chance to find solutions to real-world issues.

Huawei unveiled the 2023 Tech Arena competitions at Viva Technology, one of the biggest technology conferences in Europe.

These competitions, such as Tech Arena, “not only help students get ready for careers in these in-demand fields, but also give them the tools they need to help solve some of the biggest global problems we face,” according to the competition’s website.

Huawei’s Tech Arena competitions, supported by its labs and universities, are designed to give students around the world the chance to find solutions to real-world issues. In order to reach more than 1,000 students in France, the UK, Ireland, Sweden, Germany, Finland, Belgium, Poland, Switzerland, and Israel, the company plans to host ten competitions in 2023–2024.

Liu shared the outcomes of earlier Tech Arena competitions to highlight Huawei’s dedication to supporting the development of young talent. By 2022, more than 5,400 students from 52 universities had taken part, and the business had contributed more than $3 million to make the competition platform available to students around the world.

The findings demonstrated that more and more young people are actually improving as a result of their involvement with Tech Arena; this is consistent with the company’s goal of assisting in the development of stronger talent pools for regional communities, Liu continued.

The themes of some Tech Arena competitions were also revealed by Liu; those of other competitions will be revealed later in the year.

  1. Build a trustworthy and dependable data assistant using ModelArts’ cloud computing capabilities to co-pilot in the data lakes, says Tech Arena Ireland
  2. Tech Arena France: Fiber-based optical network expansion
  3. Swiss Technology Arena: RAW burst image super-resolution

Participants in Tech Arena will have the chance to put their knowledge of coding, algorithms, mathematics, and engineering to the test by tackling problems in the real world of business. Multiple winners will receive awards from the competitions.

The Royal European Academy of Doctors’ Dr. José R. Calvo stated that competitions like Tech Arena not only help students get ready for careers in these in-demand fields, but also give them the tools they need to help solve some of the world’s most pressing problems.

The majority of the researchers working in Huawei’s network of R&D research facilities in Europe are from the region. The centres currently collaborate on international talent cultivation and research with over 300 universities and 900 research institutions worldwide.
