HEC Advises Varsities To Enact Revised Teacher Education Roadmap

The USAID-funded Merit and Needs Based Scholarship Program created the Talent Hunt Program (THP) to support and prepare gifted female students from low-income families who want to pursue higher education but are unable to do so due to a lack of funds for the professional entry test preparation workshops.

Due to a lack of funds to prepare for admissions exams, these students are unable to apply for admission to the best universities in Pakistan.

USAID has demonstrated its dedication to supporting a program of scholarships for Pakistani students with strong academic credentials who wish to pursue higher education but are unable to do so due to a lack of funding.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the program, a student must:

Be a Pakistan/Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJ&K) national and belong to a low-income family.
Secured 80 percent or above in Intermediate (1st year) in Engineering/Medical/Computer Sciences Group, or 70 percent or above in Intermediate (1st year) in Social/General Science/Art & Humanities Group.
Special preference for female students from rural/less developed districts, as well as students with disabilities.

Application Process

Apply using the HEC Online Application System.
The HEC Committee will review the application to determine eligibility.
Based on academic records and needs-based criteria, a merit list will be created.
Top candidates will receive offer letters based on slots available.

Program Benefits

After the training workshop, there will be student stipends and a practise exam.

Note: The Talent Hunt Program is NOT a scholarship programme. For female students from low-income families who cannot afford the price of the entry test preparation courses offered in the market, there are short-term admission test preparation classes available.

It gives females the chance to take part in entry test preparation workshops created to help them get into Pakistan’s best universities and professional colleges for free.
