The chosen startups, which are arriving from different parts of Pakistan, represent a wide range of creative solutions and are ready to have a big impact in their respective industries.

DeafTawk, a Pakistani startup devoted to enhancing the lives of deaf people, and Sightsavers, an international organisation dedicated to preventing preventable blindness and promoting disability inclusion, are excited to announce the selection of the first cohort for the Innovation Challenge Futuremakers (ICF) program.

The ICF program is a fast-track acceleration programme created to meet the needs of entrepreneurs with disabilities in Pakistan. It is the result of a strategic alliance between Sightsavers and DeafTawk. The programme offers a hybrid experience that combines online interaction with worthwhile offline activities, giving startups a special chance to develop and flourish.

The selection panel, which was made up of entrepreneurs, mentors, and business experts, thoroughly assessed and interviewed each applicant from a pool of 70 applications. Eight exceptional startups in total were chosen to be a part of the first cohort.

The chosen startups, which are arriving from different parts of Pakistan, represent a wide range of creative solutions and are ready to have a big impact in their respective industries.

Sightsavers Pakistan Office Country Director Munazza Gillani expressed her opinions on the initiative as follows: “Our dedication to fostering disability inclusion and encouraging entrepreneurial spirit among people with disabilities is demonstrated by The Innovation Challenge Futuremakers.

We are eager to follow these startups’ transformative journey and anticipate the positive effects they will have.

DeafTawk CEO Ali Shabbar enthusiastically endorsed the initiative, saying, “We are delighted to welcome the first cohort of the Innovation Challenge Futuremakers. These startups serve as examples of the enormous talent and creativity found in Pakistan’s ecosystem for disabled entrepreneurs.

We hope to give these entrepreneurs and their businesses the tools they need through the ICF programme in order to effect positive change.

Attendant Service Providers (ASP), Digital Inclusive Library, Fresh N Frozen, HutKarlo, Khaas Foodz, Quadpar Auto Engineering, TailorBird Stitch Studio, and The World of Art are among the startups chosen for the Innovation Challenge Futuremakers’ first cohort.

The Innovation Challenge Futuremakers’ inaugural cohort is about to begin an exciting journey of growth and development.

These startups will receive the assistance they require to scale their businesses and make a significant social and economic impact through specially developed curriculum, mentorship, networking and investment opportunities, startup toolkits, and the chance to attend international conferences.
