According to him, Sunwalk is concentrating on quick deployment while maintaining quality in accordance with ITU-T Standards. He declared, “We are always dedicated to providing the best services in Pakistan.”
Sunwalk Group Chairman Hou Xing Wang informed the Federal Minister for IT and Telecom in a meeting about two months ago that the Group would soon begin the project of laying fibre cable across the nation with significant investment.
Afshaan Malik, Chief Business Officer of Sunwalk Group Pakistan, stated in an official statement regarding the project that despite the nation’s current economic situation, Sunwalk has kept its promise by starting the national fiber optic cable backbone project, keeping in mind the long-term strategic relationship between Pakistan and China.
She continued, “In this regard, the groundbreaking of Phase 1 (Islamabad to Multan) to provide a nationwide fibre backbone was done on Thursday.
Now, after the completion of the necessary manners related to the project, we are officially announcing this great news for the people of Pakistan.
Malik added that Sunwalk is currently working with government agencies to obtain a right-of-way (ROW) so that we can start working right away because, once we have the ROW, we intend to invest $100 million.
In Khuzdar (Baluchistan), where commercial fiber was not available, the Sunwalk Group had already invested $5 million, she continued.
She said, Sunwalk is a technology based diversified multinational Private enterprise Chinese Group and our main project is the deployment of optical fiber in all over Pakistan, for this purpose Sunwalk has acquired a TIP LICENSE from PTA in year 2002.
