More than 100,000 businesses have been registered in the Punjabi province so far through the Business Registration Portal, which was created by the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) for the Industries Department and the Labor Department.

The statistics provided on the portal can be used to estimate the expanding trend of business registration in Punjab. These statistics show that more than 43,000 partnership firms and more than 60,000 businesses have been registered in Punjab with the Labor and Social Security departments, respectively.

The government’s dedication to enhancing “Ease of Doing Business” is demonstrated in action by the Business Registration Portal. The public can register businesses easily and affordably thanks to the portal’s integration with the Departments of Industries, Labor, Social Security, and Excise and Taxation.

To make the process of registering a business simpler for the general public, PITB collaborated with the Department of Industries, Commerce & Investment, the Department of Labor & Human Resources, the Punjab Employees Social Security Institution, and the World Bank to develop an online registration portal.

As a result, processing registrations now only takes two days as opposed to at least seven. With the help of this portal, citizens can now register their businesses while relaxing in their own homes. The portal is currently integrated with NADRA, SECP, and will soon be integrated with the FBR system to provide additional facilitation.

With the help of this portal, it’s simple to register any new company online, negating the need to stop by various offices to pick up paper paperwork. The portal additionally provides application tracking and quick certificate issuance for online registration.

Public inquiries about the registration procedures can be directed to a helpline, and facilitation centres also provide the service (e-Khidmat Markaz). The government also intends to enable online payment of registration fees with the aforementioned departments in an effort to encourage more entrepreneurs and investors to start businesses.
