The interim Chief Minister of Punjab on Thursday approved the “Punjab Clean Air Policy” and a thorough action plan for the departments of transport, agriculture, industries, environment, local government, housing, urban development, energy, labour, and others.

The Chief Minister also approved the “Punjab Plastic Management Strategy,” which aims to promote the sustainable practises for plastic management by introducing modern recycling technologies and providing incentives for recycling and reuse, while presiding over the 7th meeting of the Punjab Environment Protection Council at his office today. To ensure the successful execution, the institutional capacity of the line departments will also be strengthened.

The Chief Minister emphasised the value of educating the public about the negative effects of plastic pollution and the positive effects of sustainable plastic management. The meeting decided that while the Punjab government would carry out the policy and action plan with assistance from the World Bank, the line departments would create a working plan.

The Punjab clean air policy and the province’s plastic management strategy’s key components were thoroughly described by the environment protection department’s secretary. The Chief Minister also went to the Government Central Model School on Rattigan Road in Lower Mall to check out the facilities offered to students there.

The CM declared, “We would restore the Central Model School‘s reputation and dignity, which holds its unique history in the educational field. To raise the educational standard of the school, curriculum changes are required.

The Chief Minister met with students and conducted conversations with them while visiting various classrooms. He inquired about the students’ academic pursuits. He also asked the instructors about the students’ academic pursuits.

The CM gave instructions to further enhance the schoolchildren’s learning environments. He disclosed that more money would be given to the government schools to upgrade their educational facilities for the students.
