A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and Tech Valley commits to the distribution of 5,000 scholarships for the Google Career Certificates programme.

The MoU was signed on behalf of their respective companies by Tech Valley CEO Umar Farooq and PITB Director General (DG) e-Governance Sajid Latif. At Arfa Software Technology Park, the MoU signing ceremony was presided over by PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf (ASTP).

Google Special Projects for Education, APAC Tim Paolini, Stan Fosenbauer, the head of education at PB Tech, Umar Farooq, the CEO of Tech Valley Pakistan, Adnan Iftekhar, the chief strategy officer, Madiha Mongol, the senior outreach and coordination manager, Ahmed Islam, the joint director of the PITB, and other senior officials were also present.

A six-month training programme will be offered in the areas of IT Support, Project Management, Advanced Data Analytics, IT Automation, UX Design, Advanced Business Intelligence, Data Analysis, Digital Marketing & Ecommerce, and Cybersecurity in accordance with the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding.

The scholarship recipients will receive their training through Coursera courses at no cost to them. In this regard, Chairman Faisal Yousaf stated that PITB will assist Tech Valley in contacting these organisations by helping to shortlist and provide a list of eligible organisations in the Punjab province. Additionally, the PITB will advertise scholarships for provincially qualified organisations, he continued.

The Google Career Certificates programme is a flexible, self-paced online training course that can prepare students for careers in a variety of high-growth industries, so it is important to mention it here. The programme includes assessments, mentorship sessions, specialised training, and practical experience. In addition, Google employees with decades of experience in these fields developed and taught the programme.

The Google Career Certificates programme will award scholarships on a rolling basis in the meantime. Remote applicants will be given preference for these scholarships. In order to guarantee that they have the chance to benefit from this worthwhile training, learners are encouraged to submit their applications as soon as possible.
