Govt Aims To Empower Tribal Youth with Ornament of Higher Education

Through university and school fairs in three cities, representatives of about 20 American universities promoted US study options for Pakistani students in the US. Representatives from the universities went to Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad.

The trip was planned as a chance to experience culture and recruit students for accredited US colleges and universities. After a three-year break, the Education USA-led South Asia Tour to Pakistan was launched.

The United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) organized the trip. Six of those universities were making their first visits to Pakistan. During school and university visits and college fairs in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad, representatives of the institutions spoke with thousands of Pakistani students about the academic programs, campus life, financial aid options, and application procedures.

The number of students travelling to the United States increased significantly last year, with Pakistan experiencing one of the highest percentage increases in the region, according to the 2022 Open Doors report from the Institute of International Education.

The United States is a top choice for students from around the world due to the abundance of educational opportunities, flexible and distinctive academic programs, and unmatched diversity in the student body.

The governments of Pakistan and the United States established the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan in 1950. An equal number of Americans and Pakistanis make up the binational commission that oversees USEFP, with an American and a Pakistani serving as Chairman alternate years.

One of 51 “Fulbright Commissions” spread across the globe is USEFP. The Foundation has promoted understanding between the people of Pakistan and the United States through educational and cultural exchange since 1951, when the first group of Pakistani grantees visited America, and 1952, when the first American grantees visited Pakistan. Over 1,000 Pakistanis are thought to have already had the chance to take part in this program.
