According to Act 2012, which the Balochistan Provincial Assembly passed in May 2012, the University of Turbat is the second general university in the public sector and was chartered by the Balochistan Government.
To improve higher education opportunities for students in Turbat (Kech) and the neighboring districts of Panjgur, Gwadar, and Awaran, the University of Turbat was established in the Mekran region of Balochistan.
With the opening of the University of Turbat, a sizable number of students from various regions of the province, primarily from Mekran, will enrol. This will have a direct impact on the social environment of the students’ families and an indirect impact on society.
