Govt Launches Humraaz App To Offer Free Mental Health Assistance

Government recently launched Humraaz App that offers free basic assistance to those in need in the area of mental health. Despite having a poor user interface, the application guides users to explore their current feelings, potential problems, and any potential help they may need.

Users are given a wide range of choices regarding their current emotions and feelings, and they are then asked to rate the intensity of those feelings in order to as accurately as possible gauge how severe the symptoms are. With just two questions, Humraaz app automatically offers a potential diagnosis along with treatment recommendations.

The platform offers immediate assistance by dialing the hotline number for help or assisting you in finding a psychologist. It also offers calming resources like general mental health articles to read, videos, and a group text to discuss your concerns.

The calming content includes numbered articles that discuss stress or murder and how to identify and handle it. Only one or two videos that point users to a YouTube video of a doctor discussing your diagnosed issue are available.

Although the Humraaz group chat shows a large number of users online, there is a bug that prevents texts from being sent or showing up on the chat screen.

Although the concept behind Humraaz app is thoughtful and a necessity for Pakistanis today, the application’s execution fell short of the requirements set by such platforms.

The local psychologists search hasn’t had its data updated and doesn’t list any psychologists who users could schedule an appointment with. Anonymity is not maintained within the application because users are also required to sign in with their phone number, CNIC, or email address.

While Humraaz represents a significant step forward for the government in providing services for those with mental health issues, the application could be enhanced and skillfully developed to offer a better and more beneficial experience.
