NA Speaker Emphasizes Establishment Of University In Gujar Khan

The National Assembly Speaker emphasised the importance of establishing a university in Gujar Khan as soon as possible, stating that the establishment of a cutting-edge university was unavoidable not only for Gujar Khan youth but also for youth in neighbouring districts.

The National Assembly Speaker on Monday stressed an apolitical approach to the development of the education and health sectors, saying that promoting education was essential for the country’s development.

Speaking to Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Chairman of the Higher Education Commission, who called on the Speaker in the Parliament House to discuss the establishment of a university in Gujar Khan and the start of early classes, he said that Allah Almighty has blessed Pakistan’s youth with immense abilities. He emphasised the importance of the provision of education, especially technical education, to youth for their development and employment.

He stated that it was their collective responsibility as public representatives to provide educational opportunities for the youth.

Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Chairman of the Higher Education Commission, praised the NA Speaker’s efforts to advance the education sector. He informed the Speaker that he had issued directives to the relevant authorities to prioritise the establishment of the university in Gujar Khan.

He stated that establishing a cutting-edge varsity in Gujjar Khan would provide quality education to the youth of the Potohar region, Azad Kashmir, and other neighbouring areas. He said that the development of the country was interlinked with the development of the education, health, and social sectors.

He said that for the development of these sectors, politicians as a whole have to think beyond party affiliation. He assured of utilising all possible resources for the establishment of a university in Gujar Khan on a priority basis.

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) is a government agency in Pakistan responsible for the accreditation and development of higher education institutions in the country. It was established in 2002 and operates under the Ministry of Education.
