The provincial finance minister promised on Sunday to promote contemporary education in engineering sciences and technology as well as research at the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Science and Technology (GIKI).

As the keynote speaker at a GIKI alumni reunion, the minister promised to promote contemporary education. The Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute Alumni Association was represented by alumni from across the country and abroad.

It is worth noting that the Minister is also a member of the GIK Institute’s alumni, having received engineering education there. He also belongs to the alumni association.

Members of the association also attended the reunion, including Fazal Ahmad Khalid, rector of the GIK Institute, as well as pro-rectors, deans, directors, heads of departments, faculty members, and students.
The association’s president, Barrister Engr. Habil Ahmed Khan, also graced the occasion.

The alumni, who work in various leading companies and organisations around the world, said returning to their mother institution after many years transported them back to a more prosperous time in their lives.

“I am proud of having received education at GIKI and always feel happy to visit the institute.”The environment, education delivery methods, and research culture are completely different and world-class here,” the minister said.

Prof. Khalid discussed academic activities, new initiatives, student skill enhancement, and strengthening ties with industry.
