According to the AD Scientific Index of year 2023, Prof. Dr. Hafeez R. Hoorani S.I. of National Centre for Physics, toped among Pakistani Scientists.

AD Scientific Index 2023 Declares Dr. Hoorani top Pakistani Scientists

According to the AD Scientific Index (Alper-Doger Scientific Index) of year 2023, Prof. Dr. Hafeez R. Hoorani, S.I. of National Centre for Physics (NCP), topped among Pakistani Scientists.

Dr. Hafeez ranked number 1 in Pakistan, 31 in Asia, and 442 in the World. He also mentioned among Top 2% of the World’s scientists in the specified rank.

Hafeez-ur-Rehman Hoorani is a Pakistani particle physicist specializing in accelerator physics and a CERN research scientist. Hoorani works at the National Center for Physics, where he conducts research in elementary particle physics and high energy physics.

He was the scientific director of the International Centre for Synchrotron-Light for Experimental Science Applications in the Middle East (SESAME) until the end of 2013, and he is now the Director General of the National Centre for Physics in Islamabad.

Dr. Hoorani is currently working as Director General of National Centre for Physics. He is the only scientist from NCP who mentioned as World’s Top 2% Scientists.

In the latest listing issued on December 21, 2022, AD Scientific Index compared 12,548 scientists from Pakistan, 344,331 from Asia, and 1,213,789 scientists all across the globe.

Dr. Jamila Butt of Comsats University Islamabad, and Dr. Kauser Abdulla Malik ranked second and third in Pakistan respectively, their World ranking is 1051 and 1859 respectively.

Under the leadership role of Dr. Hoorani, NCP became the top productive institution of Pakistan, ranked at 12 among 259 institutions across Pakistan, 484 in Asia out of 10,132 universities / institutions, and 1,997 among 19,529 World universities / institutions. There are 38 scientists of NCP who ranked in AD Scientific Index of 2023.

Comsats University Islamabad (former COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Islamabad) ranked number 1 in Pakistan, 130 in Asia, and 880 in World. Comsats University Islamabad have 297 scientists on AD Scientific Index 2023 list.

Pakistan as country ranked 12 in Asia, and 41 in World scientists ranking.

AD Scientific Index analyzed academic studies from 259 Pakistani universities/institutions and 12,548 scientists, presenting results that can be used to evaluate productivity and efficiency by individuals and institutions.

The “AD Scientific Index” is the first and only study to show scientists’ total and last five-year productivity coefficients based on h-index and i10 index scores and Google Scholar citations.

In addition to sorting by the “total H-index” (the h index is a metric for evaluating the cumulative impact of an author’s scholarly output and performance), one can examine several rankings and analyzes by the “last 5 years H-index”, “total i10 index” (a composite score calculated from the institution performance), “last 5 years’ i10 index”, “total number of citations”, and “last 5 years’ citations”.
