NSU Establishes Skills Training Campus in the Industrial Hub the Educational institutions are aligning their instructional methodologies with emerging technologies by producing a skilled workforce.
This was stated by Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training while inaugurating the first campus of the National Skills University Islamabad in Muridke, Sheikhupura district. According to him, this region is a hub of industry and requires skilled manpower to meet the challenging demands of employers. The National Skills University Islamabad-Muridke Campus opens its doors with five courses each having six months duration. These courses will produce technical workforce in Solar Photovoltaic System, Domestic and Industrial Electrician, Mobile Phone Repair and Manufacturing, Industrial Stitching, and Microsoft Applications.Importantly, all courses are free without any admission or tuition fee. Funding for these programs has been provided by the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC). Initially, skills training are being provided in the Allama Iqbal Library Complex Muridke; however, the university is acquiring land for its operations.
Federal Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain appreciated the efforts of the NSU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar and his entire team to establish a university campus in a record time of 60 days. Important to mention here that all codal formalities, including approval from the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, has been obtained for this campus. Dr. Bilawal Rehman has been appointed Campus Coordinator for the National Skills University Islamabad Muridke Campus to look after day-to-day affairs. The public and industrialists, and surrounding communities appreciated the establishment of this unique campus of the National Skills University Islamabad, which is recognized international skills training center by the UNESCO/UNEVOC.
