Amazon Games has more online games in the pipeline. Amazon is trying very hard to build itself up as a worth competitor in the gaming space, even though it has had some struggles over the last few years. Its first truly big game, Crucible, launched in May of 2020 before returning to a closed beta status later that summer. In October of that same year, the game was essentially canceled and shut down after it was decided that the game didn’t have a sustainable future. It was a pretty public failure, but Amazon built itself back up with the immensely popular MMO New World and Lost Ark. Both games have had tremendous success and allowed Amazon to cement itself as a proper games publisher.

Amazon Games Announces New Multiplayer Action Game

It seems Amazon is looking to continue to make big games as they’ve signed a deal with Disruptive Games to publish a new online multiplayer action-adventure game. The untitled multiplatform game will have cooperative and competitive play with further details being held for a later date. Amazon Games used this announcement to reaffirm its commitment to gaming, something that was in some doubt after reports about how the division was run surfaced in 2021.

“At Amazon Games, we’re focused on developing and publishing high-quality games that foster strong communities and keep people playing for years to come,” said Christoph Hartmann, VP, Amazon Games. “We’re accomplishing this by creating our own IPs and selectively publishing external projects from stellar teams like Disruptive Games. The talented team at Disruptive Games is creating a fresh take on the multiplayer action-adventure genre, with strong game design and rich world-building that we’re excited to help bring to players.”

As of right now, it’s unclear when Disruptive Games’ new title will be released or when we’ll learn more, but hopefully, it won’t be long. Amazon is clearly taking risks by trying to establish new IPs rather than buying other teams to utilize their IPs for themselves. So far, it appears to be working out quite well, even if it took some time to get there.

God of War Ragnarok is one of 2022’s most anticipated games, but it was noticeably missing from the latest PlayStation State of Play. Aside from some relatively small details and general updates, Sony hasn’t had any notable updates on God of War Ragnarok in roughly a year. Fans have been hoping for new gameplay, plot details, and most importantly, a release date for quite some time. Sony has reassured fans that it is still slated for 2022, but the lack of news is causing some doubt. Although it’s not uncommon for games to have long periods of silence as the team is heads-down on the project, many feel that the extent of this silence is growing more and more tedious.

The latest PlayStation State of Play had a number of great games featured, but it was largely a show dedicated to PlayStation VR titles, some third-party games, and PC ports for the Spider-Man series. It was largely a solid show, but for those who have been anxiously waiting for more God of War news, it may come as a disappointment. Given Sony hasn’t announced any other State of Plays this summer, many God of War fans are left to wonder when they will actually hear about the game. Some recent leaks suggested that the game could release in September, but there’s no way to know for certain until Sony tells us.

God of War Ragnarok is expected to be Sony’s big release for 2022, but they may be opting for a shorter marketing cycle. Aside from some E3 appearances in the years prior, the 2018 God of War game had a short marketing burst around 3 – 4 months before the game actually released. Whether or not history will repeat itself remains to be seen, but it worked out quite well for the previous game.

Minecraft fans have a new collaboration DLC to check out, this time based on the Ice Age film franchise. The DLC features 30 new skins, including fan favorites like Sid, Manny, Diego, and Ellie. The DLC also features a number of different locations from the films, and a collecting mission that tasks players with finding hidden acorns (of course). As we’ve seen with other recent Minecraft collaborations, the Ice Age DLC is only compatible with Minecraft Bedrock, and can be purchased for 1,340 Minecoins. Ice Age fans without the Minecoins to spend can also snag a free Acorn Hat character creator item in the Dressing Room.Pokemon Journeys has offered Goh a major promotion following the end of the Project Mew test missions with the newest episode of the series! The newest iteration of the anime has been setting the stage for its final climax with its run in Japan, and fans have seen both Ash Ketchum and Goh getting closer to their respective dreams than ever before. As Ash gets ready to take on some of the toughest trainers in the world in a final tournament, Goh has been working his way through a series of trials in order to get onto the Project Mew expedition team. But it’s been a tough road for him thus far.

While Goh has been clearing each of the Project Mew test trials he has been given so far, the latest update given to him had revealed that he was only the seventh ranked potential adventurer amongst eight possible picks. The newest episode of the series airing in Japan featured the final trials to get onto the team in full, and after helping to catch Regileki and Regidrago in the Galar Region’s Crown Tundra, Goh has been officially cleared to be one of the trainers who can take on the legendary mission. Street Fighter 6’s big reveal during Thursday’s State of Play presentation, a number of additional details have been revealed by Capcom. Interestingly, the game will include a real-time commentary option, which will feature members of the fighting game community. So far, Capcom has confirmed that Jeremy “Vicious” Lopez will provide commentary in English, while Aru will provide commentary in Japanese. Subtitles will be provided in 13 languages, allowing players to choose whichever commentator they prefer (or none at all). The two commentators have a long history with Street Fighter, as well as the fighting game community as a whole. Capcom has also teased that more commentators will be announced.

“The commentators featured on the official Capcom Pro Tour will commentate on your battles in real time. Get the pro player tournament experience as they comment on everything that happens during the fight,” the game’s official website reads. “The commentators will also get more and more excited as the match heats up, and also deliver easy-to-understand explanations of the game, making it a great learning tool for beginners. More commentators to be announced!”It’s been nearly two years since the release of Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, but the state of the franchise has been in question. Last year, Activision announced that developer Toys for Bob had become a support studio for the Call of Duty franchise. This led many to assume that Crash was no longer a priority for the publisher, but it seems that might not be the case. In a recent appearance on the Windows Central Podcast, insider Jez Corden seemed to accidentally reveal that Toys for Bob will be announcing a new Crash Bandicoot game at Summer Game Fest this month.
