The third International conference on Space organized by Pakistan Space & Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) in cooperation with Asia Pacific Space Cooperation Organization (APSCO).

The third International conference on Space organized by Pakistan Space & Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) in cooperation with Asia Pacific Space Cooperation Organization (APSCO), Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) and Inter Islamic Network on Space Sciences and Technology (ISNET) reached its conclusion on its 3rd day, 30 of March 2022 at Serena Hotel, Islamabad.President of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Dr Arif Alvi was the Chief Guest at the ceremony.
Chairman SUPARCO, Maj Gen Amer Nadeem, HI (M) in his concluding remarks expressed his gratitude to His Excellency, Dr Arif Alvi, President of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, for gracing this ceremony as the Chief Guest and extended greetings to the foreign participants and said that “The technical sessions of this conference emphasized on various aspects of space and geospatial information based applications to efficiently meet the challenges of socio economic development. Initiatives for national, regional and international level global cooperation and capacity building in terms of human resource development, technical infrastructures and financial resources were also promoted”
In his address, President appreciated the efforts of SUPARCO in making significant contributions to the socio-economic development of the country. He said, “SUPARCO is pursuing a programmatic space science, technology and applications program with ultimate aim of maximizing the benefits of this technology for the socio-economic development and uplift of the country”. He also reiterated the importance of peaceful use of outer space and condemned the dual use of this technology. He emphasized that the government of Pakistan recognizes the fact that the use of space technology could greatly improve the efficiency of the various developmental projects we undertake. He thanked the foreign participants for their contribution in a cause that will go a long way for the development of space-faring human resource in Pakistan.
In the span of three days i.e. 28 to 30 March, ICS-2022 focused on subjects related to the field of space. Space applications, space technologies and space law, policy & regulations were the core of all the research papers and discussions. ICS-2022 included talks by several respected foreign/local guests, paper presentation session, poster review session and panel discussions all aimed to share knowledge and new discoveries in the field of space.
