The National Skills University Islamabad (NSU) has been declared a joint awardee of the UNEVOC Network Coaction Initiative 2021-2022 Award.

The National Skills University Islamabad (NSU) has been declared a joint awardee of the UNEVOC Network Coaction Initiative 2021-2022 Award. The UNEVOC is a center of the UNESCO promoting vocational and technical education globally. Other partner institutions include, The Higher Colleges of Technology, UAE as a Lead Centre, Waikato Institute of Technology (Wintec), New Zealand, CFL, Halsingland Education Association, Sweden, Arusha Technical College, Tanzania, The National Higher Engineering School of Tunis, UNEVOC Centre of the University of Management “TISBI,” Russia. According to the Vice Chancellor, NSU, it’s a moment of pride for his university and the entire nation that a Pakistani university will be joining hands with so many international higher education institutes to promote skills education. This recognition aligns with the Prime Minister Hunarmand Pakistan Program promoting skills education.

The “Future Foresight Institutional Capacity for Post COVID-19 World” award jointly awarded to the institutions mentioned above will identify higher education institutions’ readiness and enhance their capabilities to face potential disruptions and transformations based on the lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic. Major avenues to be explored include training faculty and staff, adjusting organization culture to thrive during challenges like COVID-19 and other catastrophes, and identifying collaborations among institutions providing vocational education.
