The 18th International Conference on Frontiers of Information Technology 2021 concluded in a graceful ceremony organized by COMSATS University Islamabad at COMSTECH Secretariat, Islamabad.
Dr. Muhammad Sohail Rajput, Federal Secretary, Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, Chief Guest of the ceremony, while addressing the gathering informed that the present Government is promoting innovations in information technology and IT education in the country.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tabasum Afzal, Rector, COMSATS University Islamabad, in his remarks thanked the speakers, researchers and participants of the conference for wonderful contribution for holding a successful conference. He called on young researchers to focus on impactful product-oriented research and appreciated a large participation of females in the scientific program of FIT 2021. He called on the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication to designate a special fund aimed at enabling women to realize the commercial potential of ICTs in Pakistan.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abid, Director CUI Wah Campus and Chair of the Conference in his closing remarks thanked the participants, speakers and sponsors of the conference for bringing a rich program for the benefit of IT students, experts and entrepreneurs in Islamabad. He lauded the support rendered by the Higher Education Commission, Pakistan, National Testing Service, Bank of Punjab, Askari Bank and technical co-sponsors IEEE Islamabad Chapter.
Dr. Shoaib A Khan, Member Prime Minister’s National Task force on Science and Technology, Dr. Zia ul Qayyum, Vice Chancellor, Allama Iqbal Open University, Islamabad and Syed Junaid Imam, Digital Transformation lead, Ministry of Telecommunications participated as discussants in the panel discussion session on How to make Digital Pakistan a reality.
Dr. Usama Ijaz Bajwa, Program Chair of FIT, presented a conference summary and informed that 18 invited talks from distinguished experts in the cutting-edge fields took place during 17 technical sessions of the conference. Furthermore, several renowned industry and academia experts chaired the technical sessions and rendered useful feedback for early-stage researchers and experts.
