While Netflix has hiked prices in New Zealand, Netherlands as well as Spain, the video streaming platform has reduced prices in Pakistan. Standard and Premium plans have seen a cut of Rs 400. The Standard plan now costs Rs 800 per month whereas the Premium plans is now priced at Rs 1,100. The plans were earlier, Rs 1500 and Rs 1200 respectively. The move is motivated by Netflix’s desire to increase subscribers in the region.
Last month Netflix announced it is launching a free mobile plan in Kenya as the global streaming giant hopes to bank on the 20 million internet users the country offers. The plan will allow users to sign up free of cost and includes ads. Netflix has experimented with a different price offerings in different countries to attract customers, esp in developing nations. The mobile plans offered in India and Pakistan are one such example.
