The Egyptian Space Agency (EgSA) signed a cooperation protocol with the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) on 22 August 2021 to enhance future collaboration by exploiting the national manufacturing and research capabilities to implement Egypt’s vision for Sustainable Development 2030.

Lieutenant-General Abdel-Moneim Al-Terras, Chairman of the AOI, expressed his admiration for the efforts of the Egyptian Space Agency (EgSA) to spread the culture of space technology throughout the country. In addition, Al- Terras affirmed that the AOI would put all its advanced manufacturing capabilities to aid the activities of the Egyptian space program following the latest standards of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The AOI is renowned for its expertise in implementing various industrial and economic development projects and supporting research projects in different sectors.

Furthermore, Dr Mohamed El-Koosy, CEO of the Egyptian Space Agency, said that the EgSA is proud of the partnership with AOI. The cooperation will contribute to the localisation of the latest modern technologies in the fields of space, communications and satellites. He also announced an integrated vision and action plan to manufacture an Egyptian satellite completely without the assistance of foreign countries.

The EgSA delegation also visited the Academy of the Arab Organization for Industrialization for Training. They inspected the modern laboratories equipped with cutting-edge devices and machines, software, and the necessary training aids such as computers, simulation systems, and others linked to an internal network.
