Simple Energy's first electric scooter to be called Simple One

Simple Energy, the Bengaluru-based EV startup, announced its foray into the electric mobility field in India a few months ago and even teased its first electric scooter. The scooter was initially codenamed Mark II but will now come bearing a different name.

Simple Energy has decided to call its first scooter Simple One instead of Mark II and has also filed a trademark for the same. This is the first name trademarked by the startup .

And as revealed before, Simple Energy’s first e-scooter (now christened Simple 1) will be launched in India on 15 August, 2021. The scooter will be initially available in Hyderabad, Chennai, and Bengaluru but the company plans to expand its footprint to several other states in India.

Suhas Rajkumar, Founder and CEO of Simple Energy said, “We are elated to announce the name of the first electric vehicle by Simple Energy. Although it was known as Mark2, the name Simple One will give the right essence from the brand and product perspective. The team is now gearing up for the launch.”

A rival to the likes of Ather 450X, the Simple One will be powered by a 4.8 kWh lithium-ion battery that will offer a riding range of 240 km/charge. The electric scooter will also be able to sprint from zero to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 100 km/h.

And given that it will give a competition to 450X, the Simple One will be loaded with features like a seven-inch touchscreen instrument cluster, smartphone connectivity, navigation, built-in e-sim, and more. The scooter, as mentioned before, will be launched next month on 15 August.
