Chinese Esports Organization JDG Gaming (Also Known As JingDong Gaming) Announced Sunday That It Has Signed A Naming Rights Deal With Intel Corporation. JDG Gaming is the esports division of Chinese e-commerce company Jing Dong and competes in China’s League of Legends Pro League (LPL). Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the two-year deal will see JDG gaming renamed to “JDG Intel Esports Club.”
In May, JDG Intel Esports Club announced that it had rebranded and was making plans to relocate its headquarters and its home venue to Beijing, the same city where parent company Jing Dong is situated. The organization currently has 15 sponsors, including Tencent-owned steaming platform DouYu, peripherals company Razer, and Korean electronics company Samsung, among others.
JDG Intel Esports Club joins Dignitas and TSM, who both announced naming rights deals last week; TSM signed a 10-year, $210M USD deal with cryptocurrency exchange company FTX to become TSM FTX; and Dignitas signed a four-year deal with online banking company QNTMPAY to rename its LCS team to Dignitas QNTMPA. In May JDG announced a similar naming rights deal with Qualcomm for its Peacekeeper Elite team, JDE.
