Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) said that broadband customers in Pakistan reached 100 million.

PTA said in a statement that,

“Around 87% of the population has access to the internet at the lowest rates. Moreover, the average download speed is 17.7 Mbps, and the upload speed is 11.3 Mbps.”

However, the worldwide broadband speed test site Ookla, sharing February figures, says Pakistan’s average fixed broadband download speed was 11.35 Mbps, while its upload speed stood at 10.7 Mbps.

Earlier, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has once again warned TikTok over “vulgar and objectionable content” after Peshawar High Court ordered the ban to be lifted from this Chinese app in the country.

As per reports, the Chinese application TikTok was banned for the second time in the country due to objectionable content.

The app owned by China’s Byte Dance after restricting it back in October 2020. The latest progress comes almost a month after the Peshawar High Court (PHC) had directed the state-run telecom authority to “immediately block access” to the service.

PTA in its statement released on Twitter that,

“The PTA strictly directed TikTok management to ensure action against and removal of what it termed as “vulgar and objectionable content”.
