For a couple of weeks, Lenovo has been teasing the arrival of its next Legion gaming phone. Today, the company released a confirmation through Weibo that it will be announcing the Legion 2 Pro on April 8 in China.

Apart from revealing the launch date, the new poster does not reveal anything on the specifications of the Legion 2 Pro. It is speculated that the Lenovo phone with the L70081 model number that recently appeared in the database of China’s 3C certification site could be the forthcoming Legion 2 Pro gaming smartphone.

The 3C listing suggested that the device may arrive with a 65W fast charger. The predecessor Lenovo Legion Pro featured dual USB-C ports and allows users to connect a pair of 45W chargers.

This made it possible for the phone to support 90W charging. Hence, there is a possibility that if the Legion 2 Pro features a pair of USB-C ports, it may offer up to 110W charging speeds by connecting two 65W chargers.

The Geekbench appearance of the Lenovo Legion 2 Pro revealed that it is powered by the Snapdragon 888 mobile platform and 16 GB of RAM. it was found to be running on Android 11 OS. Also, it was confirmed by the company last month that the smartphone will be equipped with a dual-turbo cooling fan.

The original Legion Pro was designed to offer the comfort and convenience of playing games by holding it horizontally. According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the Legion 2 Pro will continue to focus on a horizontal gaming experience.

He added that it will be equipped with a high refresh rate OLED panel but did not mention whether it will support 144Hz or a higher refresh rate. There is a possibility that the Legion 2 Pro may feature a side-mounted pop-up camera like the predecessor model.
