News about Chery coming to Pakistan was circulating on internet for past few days, and now company has officially confirmed through a Facebook post about Chery coming to Pakistan.

Ghandhara Nissan Limited (GNL) has been busy in talking with Chinese automakers Chery Automobile Company Ltd. Company and has informed that the first vehicle that will be launched in Pakistan would be Tiggo 8. The car is a midsize crossover SUV. It would be in competition against Toyota Fortuner and Kia Sorento.
According to media sources, Gandhara Nissan Limited has planned to launch Electric Vehicles (EV) in Pakistan in partnership with Chery. The company has informed that a mainstream media outlet would be setting up a new plant for manufacturing and launching of EVs in Pakistan, during next three years.
This idea was revealed during a meeting between the secretary of the Board of Investment (BoI), Fareena Mazhar, the chief operating officer of Ghandhara Nissan Limited (GNL), Muazzam Pervaiz, and other officials from the company with an investment plan of Rs 2.4 billion that was presented to Bol.
The plan is that company will introduce many passenger vehicles including crossover SUVs and EVs.
Final details and pricing about vehicle have not been revealed yet, but according to recent post on Chery Pakistan’s official page we can assume that something big is coming.
