The second phase of the FY2021-18 Binational Public Tender, aimed at selecting the most advantageous commercial offers for Object 1 of the Technological Update of the ITAIPU Hydroelectric Power Plant, is in full swing. Object 1 comprises the Update of Equipment and Systems of the ITAIPU Hydroelectric Power Plant, Dam and Landfill focused on Protection, Control, Supervision, Measurement, Regulation and Automation.

The process currently under way includes the supply of equipment and materials, services, complementary infrastructure and training, divided into 3 commercial lots.

In relation to the activities of this bidding phase, the Technical Directorate of ITAIPU reported that the deadlines for technical visits and formulation of questions by the prequalified bidding companies ended on 12/11/2020, according to the latest calendar of events published in the additive 15 on 11/17/2020.

In this regard, 762 questions were answered by the bidders of the Bid, related to definitions, concepts and clarifications on the Technical Specifications of Object 1. Currently the answers to the last group of 392 questions are being prepared, which will be published through Additives; adding up, a total of more than 1150 questions received. The stage of elaboration of responses by the ITAIPU for the bidding companies of the 3 lots, will end in January 2021.

Likewise, in the latest published calendar of events, the estimated date for receiving commercial offers from prequalified bidding companies is established for 02/23/2021.

According to the bidding processes to be carried out for the award, it is estimated that the signing of the contract with the winning consortium of the bidding FY2021-18 would be in the third quarter of 2021; while, the start of the activities execution stage in the fourth quarter of 2021, with a total planned duration of the undertaking of 14 years.
