Uber vehicles add separator shields for greater protection

Although the second wave of Coronavirus has hit with greater intensity than the last, majority of the schools, offices and workplaces across the country continue to remain open leaving individuals with little choice but to get out of their houses and travel in spite of a higher risk of acquiring infection.

In such a scenario, one should take as many precautions as possible to lower the possibility of transmission.

With a large number of employed individuals relying on ride-hailing services for their daily commuting needs, it is a laudable move by ride-hailing giant, Uber, to introduce protective shields between the drivers and the riders in Uber-operated vehicles.

Travelling is a necessity for certain professionals whose nature of employment makes remote working impossible and it merits mention that accessible transport services offered by Uber and the likes has facilitated them a great deal amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

While doing so, they have also remained committed to ensuring the highest level of safety in its rides. All Uber vehicles carry hand sanitizers and anti-bacterial wipes that can be used by passengers and drivers during journey, and it is mandatory for both riders and drivers to wear a mask during the ride.

Now these new separator shields add an additional layer of protection for both individuals sitting in close physical proximity and reduce the risk of virus transmission.
