Giraffe Hall, at Port Lympne Hotel and Reserve in Kent, is yet to open its doors, but has already racked up plenty of interest with 9,000 people signing up to the waiting list, according to Kent Online.

The luxury accommodation is set within a Grade II listed building dating back to the 15th and 16th century and will offer 10 bedrooms, as well as five cabins, all giving incredible views over the nature reserve where animals including lions, giraffes and wolves call home.

As well as that, you’ll also get the chance to get up close with the giraffes who will be near to the hall and may rock up to check out what’s happening inside.

It will be the first of its kind in the western hemisphere.

The website explains: “Get closer than ever before and make friends with your giraffe neighbours, as the resident herd peer into the lofty ceilinged drawing room, or amble up to the bedroom windows, where you may be lucky enough to feed them.”

The reserve, which is run by the Aspinall Foundation, already offers some pretty cool overnight experiences, including Lion Lodge, which features huge windows facing out onto the lion enclosure.

  • A description reads: “The first of its kind worldwide, Lion Lodge is a timber clad, Manhattan loft style building, set within the lion’s natural enclosure.
  • “Featuring floor to ceiling windows in both the master bedroom and the open plan living area, guests will be just a whisker away from lions.”

There are similar experiences with tigers and wolves on offer, too, if that’s more your thing.

As yet the prices for Giraffe Hall haven’t been revealed, but an overnight stay at Lion Lodge, where you can spend your evenings just inches away from lions, costs from £1,750 and for your cash you’ll get a bottle of bubbly upon arrival, use of a golf buggy to check out the reserve, a full English breakfast and entrance to the hotel, reserve and Howletts Wild Animal Park.
